Bone Marrow Transplant in Uganda
Bone marrow transplants treat persons with leukemia, lymphoma, and some autoimmune diseases in Uganda. The goals differ depending on the circumstances of each case, but they frequently include treating or controlling the condition, extending life, and increasing quality of life. In Uganda, bone marrow transplantation is a standard treatment for cancer. In addition, compared to wealthy countries, the bone marrow transplant cost in Uganda is relatively low. A bone marrow transplant not only replaces lost bone marrow cells with healthy ones, but it can also treat some types of cancer directly. This is because donated cells can sometimes recognize and kill cancer cells more efficiently than the patient’s immune cells.
